Dune Before Restoration

In 2005, an independent consultant reviewed all of the issues regarding Bluewater Dunes Park and prepared recommendations. (see attached link). BDPA supports the recommendations. The current council has gone against many of the recommendations including...
1) Identifying the Dune as a "Major Beach Park" instead of community park, putting it at risk. (section 4.1)
2) Misrepresenting the size and capacity of the Dune Park (town says 25,000 sq. mtrs and this report shows 4,420 sq. mtrs) (section 4.3.5)
3) That parking does not encroach on natural areas (council is considereing digging into the dunes on Trew Ave. (section 3.3.2 & 4.3)
