Our Mandate...
1) To get Bluewater Dunes zoned EP1 (Environmentally Protected). We shouldn't have to fight for them every 5 years.
2) Maintain the wording “Environment First” in the new Official Plan for Tiny Township.
BDPA is a group of Tiny Township residents who are interested in protecting our unique natural environment. Many members were past members of the Bluewater Dunes Restoration Advisory Committee that was instrumental in the initial dune restoration project started in 2005. The restoration of the dunes is a work in progress, but Tiny Township is developing their new Official Plan and the commitment to the environment is being watered down to "environment focused" from "environment first" as as it exists in the current Official Plan. Our dune has been attacked many times in the past. From bulldozing of the natural wetlands to hauling away of dump trucks of dune sand. Local councils come and go. Every time the council changes we have to remind them of the Plans that were carefully prepared. (bluewaterdunes.org/bluewaterreportnov1405.pdf ). Unfortunately, Council's don't always listen or know the history. Our Dunes are susceptible to political whims. Right now, the Dunes are zoned as "Open Space" and may be tampered with at will. As such, we are asking for your support in our Mandate...
